Chairman Prof. Bolton and IPA Secretariat had a meeting in Kochi, Japan

Prior to the Ordinary General Assembly 2009, Chairman Prof. Bolton visited Kochi, Japan from UK and had a meeting with the IPA Secretariat. Taking this opportunity, IPA Support Team members of Giken Seisakusho Co., Ltd. joined the meeting and discussed together about the recent activities and future plan of the IPA.

Firstly, Secretary General Dr Okumura reported activity of 2008 and activity plan of 2009 to all attendees. Accordingly the current status and opinions were discussed regarding the forthcoming 3rd IPA International Workshop and publication of the 1st IPA research papers. Good advices of new key themes for 3rd Research Grant Award were suggested by Chairman Prof. Bolton and the meeting was concluded successfully, even it was short time.

The main purpose that Chairman Prof. Bolton regularly visit Japan in every summer is the research collaboration of Cambridge University and Giken. This year he brought 2 graduate students and 2 undergraduate students.

Giken Seisakusho Co., Ltd. held welcome party for parties of Cambridge University and IPA Secretariat. There were also special guests invited by Honorary President Mr Kitamura, who were Honorary Member Prof. Okamura, the president of Kochi University of Technology Prof. Sakuma, Prof. Matsumura from Kochi University of Technology, Assoc. Prof. Okabayashi from Kochi National College of Technology. Everybody enjoyed hospitality of Kochi style.

The Ordinary General Assembly 2009 will be held from 21st July to 18th August by email.
