IPA has decided to host the 5th International Workshop in December 2014, in Ho Chi Minh City, Viet Nam.

Viet Nam is an association of the Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN), a council of the Asian Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC), and a member nation of the World Trade Organization (WTO). Stable economic development still continues as a core country in Asia, although the rate of development is modest lately. As an international trade country, Viet Nam is vibrant because of the advancement of large-scale infrastructure maintenance such as highway maintenance to a main river harbors and industrial areas.

In addition, blast furnace industry has been developed well in Viet Nam, since large-scale urban development projects including those related to ODA were ordered. In particular, a national standard on steel sheet piles and steel tubular piles has been established, and the press-in technology is gradually getting popular. Better understanding the technology through collaboration among industry, academia, and government, Viet Nam was selected as the venue, because the timing was best to promote the press-in technology in a wide range.
