The 3rd International workshop for Young Researchers was held on Friday 25th July 2014 at the Kochi corporate office of GIKEN LTD. The objective of this workshop is to foster young researchers and to increase opportunities for them to exchange information. With advice from the participants on the introduced research topics, they try to find opportunities to aim for more practical researches. Among the participants of the 7th IPA Press-in Technology Seminar in Kochi, 7 students from the 6 universities presented their current researches.Receiving precise and useful pieces of advice from

Dr. Bolton, IPA chairman and Dr. Matsumoto, active discussions took place and the workshop became very fruitful. Subsequent to the workshop, they made a factory tour in the corporate office of the GIKEN LTD., followed by a site trip in the Kochi coastal area (Nii, Tosa), which had been introduced by Mr. Ozaki, governor of the Kochi Prefecture the previous day. It was a good opportunity for the participants to learn the latest press-in technology and the front line of disaster prevention measures.
